One of the things I am most excited for in our new home is the kitchen! If you know me then you know that I absolutely love love love baking. We recently took a family trip to Florida and I was sure to bring back some fresh strawberries. The kids and I had so much fun making a strawberry pie as well as strawberry shortcake, so I thought I would share my recipes with you! 🍓

🍓 Strawberry Shortcake
Ingredients:
- 1 3/4 cup flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
Mix these together
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
Add these to above
Mix & bake @ 350
Enjoy with strawberries and whipped topping
Makes a 9×9 pan

🍓 Strawberry Pie
Ingredients:
- 1 quart fresh strawberries
- 1 (9 inch) pie crust, backed
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3 tbsp. cornstarch
- 3/4 cup water
- Heavy cream
Arrange half of the strawberries in baked pastry shell. Place remaining strawberries in a medium saucepan.
Add sugar to the strawberries in the saucepan; place over medium heat and bring to a boil, stirring frequently.
Whisk cornstarch and water together in a small bowl. Gradually stir cornstarch mixture into boiling strawberry mixture. Reduce heat and simmer mixture until thickened, about 8 minutes, stirring constantly.
Pour cooked strawberry mixture over berries in pastry shell. You can eat while warm or refrigerate until chilled and set.
Dollop with whipped cream before serving. Enjoy!
