It’s no lie that i’m head over heals for this magical hidden island in the US.
YES, I just said that. An island that makes you feel like you’ve been ship wrecked on Gilligan’s Island. You can only get to this island in the southern part of Florida by boat or plane. We’ve been coming to this island for several years now and it’s most definitely become our family favorite. It’s most definitely an adventure for those of us who want a very slow paced vacation. There’s nothing fast about this island. It has 2 small restaurants and a tiny icecream shop as well.
A few things I love about North Captiva Island
- hidden from the rest of the world
- absolute peace
- the most perfect seashells
- the greatest fishing (especially shark 🦈)
- no roads – only mode of transportation is gulf carts!
You will want to insta cart most of your food in for the week in order to save $$$ & don’t forget to book your ferry ⛴️ over and back.
Here is their main island club webpage filled with great information and many faq’s that you might have:

Plan your next family vaca here if you love remote and be sure to save this so you don’t forget!
Our favorite beach house that we’ve stayed at thus far ⬇️

You can certainly check out VRBO or Airbnb for many great homes on the island to rent for your stay but I don’t love their costly up charge for using their website. I’ve found that you can save around $1,000 or more if you don’t.
Have fun! This will certainly be a family vacation that you will forever remember.
