BLUE LOTUS

• the Lotus flower is one of the most sacred plants in the world and has enchanted us for over 3,000 years. That’s because it’s petals and oils were valued by healers and artists for thousands of years before science could tell us why..
• The accient Egyptians considered Blue Lotus to be the sacred plant of the gods. A plant that elevated their state of consciousness and connected them with the divine. They carved Blue Lotus blossoms on the walls of their temples, tombs and pyramids
• the Blue Lotus flower no longer grows on the banks of the Nile Rive due to pollution and environmental changes, caused this beautiful flower to disappear from this beautiful flower where it once flourished
• Our search for Blue Lotus took us around the world….
• It takes 1 TON of blue lotus petals = 1 KILO of blue lotus absolute…it’s no wonder the supply wasn’t there
• doTERRA found a small local family selling blue lotus in a small local market in rural China for use as religious offerings.
• The source was not large enough to meet our demands but THIS TIME we found a sourcing partner who shared our ability to dream BIG. We laid out our vision with them and as master distillers they chose to innovate and how to extract the blue lotus essence from the blue lotus flowers and also chose to invest in the farmer so that more ponds could be developed. It took 4 YEARS….but in the end we created an entire blue lotus supply chain from the ground up and it is 100% exclusive to doTERRA! You CANNOT buy this product anywhere else in the world.

BIRCH

• 7 years ago we outgrew our ability to outsource the amount of Birch that we needed.
• This process has been harder than we ever imagined
• In 2016 we received an email from a gentleman named Royce. He told us that he had an extensive number of trees growing on his family farm in here in the beautiful state of Pennsylvania in the allegheny mountains. They weren’t using the trees and Royce wanted to find some productive use for the Birch.
• One month after receiving Royce’s email, our sourcing team was on the ground here in Pennsylvania. We weren’t the first company that Royce contacted but everyone else said no. None of the companies Royce contacted were interested in distilling birch oil because what they already had, they thought was “pure”
• & as you will see in this next slide, these were the oils that he tested that proved didn’t have a single drop of Birch essential oil in them.
• It is extremely difficult to distill Birch eo from the tree and with there being no regulated standard of purity in the eo industry, all of the companies have chosen to take the easy way out
• This is UNITL we met Grant “Skip” Cavanaugh. Skip is one of the only people in America that still knows how to distill pure Birch essential oil. Skip’s father taught him the secrets. Thanks to this man and his willingness to teach doTERRA what he knows, distilling Birch now won’t be forgotten anytime soon!
